Camp Counsellor 

Responsibilities :

You must be ready to:

  • Foster strong relationships with campers
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages children to improve their English abilities
  • Lead and design daily English-language conversation-based workshops for 5-6 campers
  • Develop, facilitate and participate in camp activities (ratio of 1:3)
    • Activity at camp : campfires, night games, themes days (Christmas, Halloween, Disney, Harry Potter, etc.), Olympics
    • For your group, with your partner (10-11 campers): survival, arts, and craft, archery, obstacle course, water activities, etc.
  • Lead outdoor activities with the support of outdoor specialists (canoe-camping, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, etc.).
  • To sing, laugh, dance, dress up, have fun… daily

Profile :

You must:

  • Be 18 y/o. or older
  • Be available from June 16th to August 20th, 2022
  • Be fluent in English (written and spoken), and have a good comprehension of French
  • Enjoy working with children of all ages
  • Enjoy being outdoors
  • Be mature, responsible, motivated, creative, team-oriented, and energetic
  • Be ready to make lifelong friendships.

Experience in tutoring, coaching, or teaching is an asset.

*A valid CPR/first aid certification and proof of vaccination (following the recommendations of ACQ; Association des Camps du Quebec) will be requested upon hire.

We provide :

  • 570$/week *food and board included (access to staff bedroom and storage)
  • Access to outdoor equipment during time off (canoe, kayak, surfboards)

Camp Counsellor & Lifeguard

Responsibilities :

You must be ready to:

    • For your group, with your partner (10-11 campers): survival, arts, and craft, archery, obstacle course, water activities, etc.
  • Lead outdoor activities with the support of outdoor specialists (canoe-camping, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, etc.)
  • Supervise and ensure the security of swimmers at the lake for a period of 2 to 3 hours per day.
  • To sing, laugh, dance, dress up, have fun… daily

Profile :

You must:

  • Be 18 y/o. or older
  • Be available from June 16th to August 20th, 2022
  • Are fluent in English (written and spoken), and have a good comprehension of French
  • Enjoy working with children of all ages
  • Enjoy being outdoors
  • Have a strong ability to motivate, lead, and mentor groups of people
  • Be mature, responsible, motivated, creative, team-oriented, and energetic
  • Be ready to make lifelong friendships
  • Have an up-to-date national lifeguard certification for pools given by the Canadian Lifeguard Association.

We provide :

  • 580$/week *food and board included (access to staff bedroom and storage)
  • A paid two-day waterfront beach certification (or re-certification) in June
  • Access to outdoor equipment during time off (canoe, kayak, surfboards)
  • Staff rooms for hangouts during time-off
  • The chance to spend the summer with 40 amazing young adults in a lovely outdoor setting
  • The chance to create a meaningful impact on campers.

Camp Counsellor & First Aid

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for giving medication to campers during the day and attend minor injuries.
  • To sing, laugh, dance, dress up, have fun… daily

Profile

  • Be fluent in English (written and spoken), and have a good comprehension of French
  • Enjoy working with children of all ages

Outdoor Specialist

Responsibilities

You must be ready to:

  • Lead outdoor activities including several canoe-camping trips
  • Lead outdoor activities including rock climbing, mountain biking, and canoeing
  • Ensure the safety of both counsellors and campers during outdoor activities
  • Responsible for the maintenance of outdoor equipment such as mountain bikes, canoes, camping, and rock-climbing equipment
  • Support the maintenance staff with tasks around the camp site
  • Foster strong relationships with campers
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages children to improve their English abilities
  • Develop, facilitate and participate in camp activities (ratio of 1:3) for the whole camp (115 campers): campfires, night games, themes days (Christmas, Halloween, Disney, Harry Potter, etc.), Olympics.
  • To sing, laugh, dance, dress up, have fun… daily

Profile

You must:

  • Be 18 y/o. or older
  • Be available from the beginning of June to August 20th, 2022
  • Be fluent in English (written and spoken), and have a good comprehension of French
  • Enjoy working with children of all ages
  • Enjoy being outdoors

Experience in canoeing, rock-climbing, camping, or mountain biking is an asset

Associate Counsellor

A job opportunity for young adults 17 and up who want to improve their English skills while working at camp!  

Responsibilities:

  • Follow a 2-hour conversation-based workshop 5 times a week
  • Your time and responsibilities will be split between:
    • Junior counsellor tasks: assisting counsellors during English workshops, group activities, night games, and bedtime.
    • Kitchen duties (3hours/day): help prepare meals and snacks, serve meals, wash dishes, clean tables, clean around the kitchen area OR Cleaning and upkeeping duties (3hours/day): sweep the cabins/washrooms/cafeteria, clean the counters/sinks/bathrooms/doors handles/mirror, clean the washroom floors
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages children to improve their English abilities
  • To sing, laugh, dance, dress up, have fun… daily

Profile:

You must:

  • Be 17 y/o. or over
  • Be Available from June 16th to August 20th, 2022
  • Have Intermediate level of spoken English
  • Enjoy working with children of all ages
  • Enjoy being outdoors
  • Be disciplined, respectful, mature, responsible, motivated, creative, team-oriented, and energetic
  • Be ready to make lifelong friendships.

Compensation:

  • 533$/week *food and board included (access to staff bedroom and storage)

Assistant Cook

Duration :

June 16 to August 20, 2022

Responsibilities :

  • Every morning, meet with the chef to establish tasks of the day.
  • Follow the chef’s instruction.
  • Help prepare/serve meals and snacks on established schedule.
  • Make sure the kitchen and cafeteria is clean at all times.

Prerequisites :

  • 18 years of age and over.
  • Secondary 5 or studies in cooking school.
  • Able to serve and speak English to campers.
  • Qualities needed: disciplined, mature, respectful, punctual and like kids.
  • Respect dressing code, rules and sanitary regulation at camp.
  • Experience in a kitchen is an asset.

Compensation :

40 hours a week. Salary to be discussed with lodging.


Kitchen Helper / Dishwasher

Duration :

June 16 to August 20, 2022

Responsibilities :

  • Meet with cook every day to establish tasks of the day.
  • Help prepare and serve meals and snacks.
  • Clean tables after each meal, empty garbage and clean kitchen and cafeteria’s floor every day.
  • Clean trays and dishes (automatic dishwasher available).

Prerequisites :

  • 16 years of age and over.
  • Able to serve and speak English to campers is a plus.
  • Qualities needed: disciplined, mature, respectful, punctual, good humour and enjoy working with kids.
  • Experience in a kitchen is an asset.
  • Respect dress code, rules and sanitary regulation at camp.

Compensation :

Minimum wage.
